Day 01:

Representatives of Himalaya Arirang trek will welcome you in the international airport before transferring you to the hotel for check-in procedure. After freshening up, you’ll be given a short briefing of the trek itinerary.  Afterwards, you can explore the local markets or vibrant Thamel.

Day 02:

 After breakfast, final prepare for trekking gear and collect restricted area permits and you will head to the domestic airport for a scenic 50-minute flight to Nepalgunj, offering views of rolling hills and fertile plains. Once you arrive in Nepalgunj, you will be transferred to your hotel, where you can relax and prepare for the journey ahead

Day 03:

 Today, get ready for a thrilling flight from Nepalgunj to Juphal, the gateway to Dolpo where you’ll feel the dramatic change in scenery introducing steep hillsides, alpine villages, and crisp mountain air. Your trek will begin with a gentle descent through terraced fields and along the Bheri River. The trail leads you to Dunai, the administrative center of Dolpo district, where you’ll spend the night in a teahouse and acclimatize.

Day 04:

Today, you’ll follow the trail along the Suli Gad River into Shey Phoksundo National Park. Today’s walk is filled with diverse landscapes, from pine forests to narrow gorges. You’ll cross suspension bridges and pass small settlements, where you’ll catch glimpses of local life. The final stretch brings you to Chhepka village, a tranquil cluster of lodges surrounded by lush vegetation. Here, you’ll settle into your teahouse for a warm meal and a restful night.

Day 05:

Today’s journey continues along the Suli Gad valley, gradually ascending through forests of fir, juniper, and bamboo. As you approach the higher elevations, you’ll notice the vegetation changing, and the river’s turquoise color deepening. The highlight of the day is reaching the stunning Jharna Waterfall, one of Nepal’s tallest, cascading nearly 200 meters from the cliffs above. You’ll camp or stay in a basic lodge nearby, falling asleep to the soothing roar of the waterfall.

Day 06:

 After breakfast, you’ll climb steadily along rocky trails with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. The trail ascends a ridge that offers your first dramatic glimpse of the vivid blue waters of Phoksundo Lake. From here, you’ll descend to the traditional Tibetan village of Ringmo, perched right on the lake’s edge. The village is home to ancient Bonpo and Buddhist cultures, with whitewashed houses and yak corrals. You’ll spend the night in a lodge overlooking the lake.

Today is a well-deserved rest and exploration day. You’ll visit Tshowa Gompa, a revered 900-year-old Bon monastery built into a cliff above the lake, where monks continue to practice age-old rituals. After exploring the monastery’s intricately carved relics and prayer halls, you’ll have time to walk along the lakeshore and soak in the unforgettable scenery. The turquoise Phoksundo Lake reflects the surrounding peaks, creating a surreal, otherworldly landscape. This is a perfect day to relax, acclimatize, and enjoy photography.

Day 08:

 Leaving Ringmo, you’ll retrace your steps along the same trail, taking in the views from a new perspective. Descending past the waterfall and through forests rich in medicinal herbs, you’ll continue down to Chhepka village. This section of the trek offers opportunities to observe wildlife, including Himalayan langurs and a variety of birds. You’ll arrive back in Chhepka in the afternoon and spend the night in a comfortable teahouse.

Day 09:

 Today marks your final day on the trail. The path leads you along the riverbanks and through terraced farmlands dotted with small villages. As you approach Juphal, you’ll feel a sense of accomplishment reflecting on your 12-day Phoksundo Lake trek. You’ll spend your last night in Dolpo in Juphal, enjoying a hearty dinner with your trekking team and celebrating your journey into one of Nepal’s most remote and beautiful regions.

Day 10:

 Early in the morning, you’ll board your return flight from Juphal to Nepalgunj. The short but scenic flight brings you back to the warmer climate of the lowlands. After landing, you’ll transfer to your hotel to rest, shower, and enjoy some comfort after days in the mountains. If time permits, you can explore Nepalgunj or simply relax before your journey back to Kathmandu.

Day 11:

 After breakfast, you’ll take a flight back to Kathmandu, watching the hills and plains of western Nepal fade into the distance. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to your hotel in the city. The rest of the day is free to explore the cultural landmarks of Kathmandu, shop for souvenirs, or simply relax. In the evening, you may gather with your guides and fellow trekkers for a farewell dinner to celebrate the memories of your Phoksundo Lake trek.

Day 12:

After breakfast full day city tour Kathmandu Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that has historical palaces, plazas and temples. Be fascinated by Hanuman Dhoka Palace’s detailed carving and Kasthamandap Temple, the temple of the Living Goddess, and tour to Swayambhunath, tour to Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest stupas in the world, an iconic Buddhist site offering a mix of spiritual, cultural and scenic experiences.

Weather in the mountains is unpredictable, so flights between Nepalgunj and Juphal can occasionally be delayed or canceled.

For Dolpo trek restricted area permits are compulsorry for two people but if you can trek solo trek cost expensive, you must have a guide and at least pay extra permit fee one other person to get the Lower Dolpo permit.

Electricity is available in some villages, but it’s limited. Charging devices usually costs extra. Wi-Fi is rare or non-existent, Mobile date can work few place so plan to be offline during most of the trek.
