Everest Jiri Trek is one of the classic treks of Nepal in the Everest Region. Comparatively easier to other Everest region trek, it covers trails to Tengboche Monastery (3850m). Wildering through the diverse geography, the trekking trail offers superb Himalayan views of Mount. Everest 8848m, Mount Lhotse (8516m), Mount Makalu (8463m), Mount Cho Oyu (8201m) & other snowy capped mountains, beautiful landscape, Tibetan monasteries & Sherpa culture. You will get to explore the beautiful landscape of the Everest region.

The trek is a 21-day trek that initiates from Jiri to Bhandar. Not to mention, Jiri is one of the most popular starting points for treks. The highway to Jiri is famous for the environment-friendly approach adopted during its design. Further, the trek traverses through Junbesi, located at the junction of the Everest trail. On your way, you will come across many rivers and following past them continuing your journey.

Delve into the varying altitudes, diverse floras and faunas, ethnic cultures and unique lifestyles happen to be some of the highlights of the trek. Moreover, it leads you from the central hills through the beaten tracks into the Himalaya. Also, majestic views of the mountains, along with surrounding landscapes covered with enchanting rhododendron, magnolia, and alpine forests makes your trek wonderful.

One of the major perks of the trek is the breathtaking alpine forest on the way along Lukla. And the other major perk of this trek from Jiri to Lukla is less crowded. You will find far fewer trekkers compared to other trails. Hence, you will get to enjoy the peaceful and serene natural environment all to yourself. Best time to visit

The best time to visit is the pre-monsoon and post-monsoon seasons. You can trek during the winter seasons, but it can be very cold and can dump snow at the trekking trails at any time. Weather can be very challenging during the winter days.

Day 01:

You will heartily be welcomed by our representative at the Tribhuvan International Airport. From thereon, you will be dropped at the hotel for relaxing. After that, you will be given a brief orientation of the trek by our representative.

Day 02:

The journey proceeds with a drive from Kathmandu to Jiri on a private vehicle. The drive takes us through many small villages and beautiful forests. Also, the big rivers on the way are amazing letting you enjoy your drive through nature. Not to mention, Jiri is one of the most popular starting points for treks. The highway to Jiri is famous for the environment-friendly approach adopted during its design.

Day 03:

After having our breakfast, we head towards Bhandar. Bhandar is a newly accessible extension beyond Jiri. The trek initiates with an ascend and gradually dropping to Shivalaya. We stroll down through enchanting countryside scenery through every ridge. The trail takes us through the placid oak and rhododendron forests. Further, we climb a ridge that leads us to the Deurali pass. Descending from the ridge, we reach a small settlement of Bhandar.

Day 04:

Today, we start off our trek to Sagar from Bhandar. After having our breakfast, we leave towards our destination. Sagar is 2440 m away from Bhandar. Traversing through a bridge, the meandering paths lead to a small village of Kinja. Further, it is an uphill trail through the terraced fields and beautiful villages. Finally, we reach Sagar and stay here overnight.

Day 05:

Starting off with a gradual ascent, the trail leads us through few scattered farmhouses and tea houses reaching Lamjura pass. Further, the trail descends through beautiful rhododendron forests then passing over through the north side of the valley before reaching Junbesi. Located at the juncture of Everest region, Junbesi is a beautiful Sherpa village. You will be heartily welcomed by the locals along with the warm hospitality.

Day 06:

After having our breakfast, we leave behind Junbesi and head towards Nuntala. Beneath Junbesi, the trail continues by traversing through the Junbesi river on a wooden bridge. The pathway heads north descending down to Salung. Past Salung, it is a downhill path that takes you through the alpine forest of oaks, rhododendron, pines of Tak Shindo. You will get picturesque streams on the way to Nunthala.

Day 07:

The path further descends through a valley followed by a suspension bridge crossing the Dudh Koshi river. Further, there is a short descent on a stepped path of Jubing. Again, the path moves down to a ridge that has few teahouses at the top. It is a perfect spot for relaxation. From there it’s a pretty easy descent down to the spread out village of Kharikhola which has a couple of good lodges.

Day 08:

Today the trek initiates from Khari Khola to Pulyan. Starting off with descent and crossing a bridge, further the trek is through an ascending trail. The route now ascends upwards around the side of a large forested valley coming around to an end of a ridge which is called Khari La. Right on the end of it are a couple of tea houses. Now the trek further ascends the valley containing Paiya Khola. Further above, there is Pulyan.

Day 09:

After having our breakfast, we head towards Phakding. We trek through Cheplung village from where we catch sight of Mt. Khumbila, the sacred mountain which has never been ascended.

The trek offers breathtaking views of snowcaps making your journey a memorable one.

Day 10:

The day starts with the trek from Phakding, for this, we will have to cross the river to continue the trek. We will walk through the beautiful rhododendron and blue pine forests. We pursue the trail north up to the valley of Benkar. Crossing the Dudhkoshi river we will head towards Chumoa to Monjo, the entrance to the Everest National Park. Henceforth, the way to Namche Bazaar becomes a bit difficult that includes a perpendicular climb. From Namche Bazaar we get to see some of the stunning views of Mt. Everest and Mt. Lhotse. We will stay overnight at teahouse.

Day 11:

We would stroll around the beautiful Namche Bazaar and spend the entire day acclimatizing here. Namche Bazaar is a prosperous village here in Khumbu region with facilities of ATM, internet cafe, shops, restaurant, with a vibrant market. Our guides will help you stroll around the beautiful Namche bazaar. We can also visit Sagarmatha National Park for some stunning sceneries and to enjoy the breathtaking views of sunrise and sunsets. Moreover, we can also trek to Khumjung village, a beautiful settlement of Sherpa people.

Day 12:

Descending through the Dudhkoshi, Khumjung village, we move to the major pathway to Everest. While descending you will get to see the magnificent views of snow peaks like Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Kongde and so on. Reaching Tengboche, we would visit the Tengboche monastery and enjoy the wonderful glimpses around. We will stay overnight in Tengboche.

Day 13:

Cascading through the forests of rhododendron, pine, and conifers, we again get to see the astounding views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse and Mt. Amadablam. The trail leads to Devuche further heading towards the Imja river. Further, crossing the Imja river, the path takes us to Pangboche. During this trekking trail, we get to enjoy the pristine views of snow caps and the Pangboche monastery. Further, from the Pangboche we head towards the Imja Valley and finally ascend to Dingboche. Overnight at Dingboche.

Day 14:

The trek to Dugla takes approximately 3 - 4 hours. After having our breakfast, we start off our trek. The walk to Dughla leads us through the plains of the beautiful Khumbu Khola valley. Further, the trail gets harder as the sandy and rocky path narrows and led uphill. As we ascend our way higher, the landscape becomes mostly barren with all sand and rocks.

Day 15:

Today’s trek can be atough as we climb up a steep hill towards Dughla pass. The steep trail can be difficult to lead on but the views through the trail is truly worthy. We ascend through the trail taking short breaks. Heading towards the top, we finally see Lobuche. Moreover, the path then moves to Lobuche through a comparatively easy trail.

Day 16:

Taking the trail to Everest Base Camp, we trek past to the vast Gorak Shep Lake. This would be the most exhausting as well as a significant part of the entire trek. Enduring with the trail we come across Indian army mountaineers’ memorials. Hence, we must follow our Sherpa guides carefully. The trek can be strenuous because of the thin air. Continuing, you will see the tents of mountaineers in the EBC. From here we get back to Gorak Shep for relaxing and overnight stay here. Not to mention, the alluring sunset view from Kalapatthar makes your trek a worthy one. As the rays of sun hit the snow peaks, it is of the admirable series to visualize.

Day 17:

Today, we start our trek to Kalapatthar and then towards Pheriche. Not to mention, the alluring sunset view from Kalapatthar makes your trek a worthy one. As the rays of sun hit the snow peaks, it is of the admirable series to visualize. The hike down to Pheriche is much easier. We stay at Pheriche overnight.

Day 18:

Trekking down the hill through the rhododendron and juniper forests, we head towards Namche Bazaar. On the way, you will see colorful flags festooned on the Dudhkoshi river’s bridge. While descending the path leads to Sansa, where you get to see the stunning views of Mt Amadablam, Nuptse and Thamserku peaks. Finally, you reach Namche Bazaar after the winding trails. Overnight at Namche Bazaar.

Day 19:

The trek initiates from descending through the Namche Bazaar. The trail is steep and can get difficult to walk due to the rocky terrain. Furthermore, after crossing the suspension bridges of Dudhkoshi river, the trail gets more ordinary. Upon arriving at Lukla we rest our sore feet and relax away from all the exhaustion from the trek. Overnight at Lukla.

Day 20:

We can an early morning flight to Kathmandu after having our breakfast. After reaching Kathmandu you can relax and stroll the beautiful capital city. Also, popular as the city of temples, you can visit various world heritage sites here.

Day 21:

Your spontaneous adventure to the Himalayas has come to an end. You will be taking back some best trekking memories along with you. Not to mention, your EBC trek would be a worthy as well as a memorable one. You will leave your hotels and pack your luggage and leave for the airport. Our representative will drop you at the Tribhuvan international airport.
