Trip Overview

Pisang Peak is a famous trekking destination in Nepal’s Annapurna region. It has an altitude of 6091 meters above sea level. In 1955, the German expedition team successfully completed the first Pisang peak climbing. Pisang Peak, therefore, has become one of the popular climbing peaks in the Annapurna region. The maximum number of tourists are eager to conquer the summit of the peak. It is also the acclimatization climbing peak for those attempting 7000 and 8000 m peaks. Pisang Peak climbing gives you a perfect panoramic view of Chulu East (6584 m), Manaslu (8163 m), Annapurna (8091 m), and Kang Guru I (6981 m) located in the same region.

Pisang Peak climbing includes the steep trekking route, rocky slopes, and the final summit push in steep slop of 45 to a 55-degree angle which is a risk of avalanche, and rock fall. While climbing to Pisang Peak we have to hike through fixed rope using crampons and an ice axe.  Climbing Pisang Peak requires proper trekking experience and knowledge of different skills like jumaring, walking on glaciers, crevasses area, and other technical skills.

Pisang Peak itinerary includes the 17-day package due to its altitude above 6000 m. High chance of altitude sickness, HAPE, and HASE. Maximum climbers follow the Annapurna circuit for slow altitude gain and proper acclimatization. It helps to recover the body at a high altitude and has a high success rate of summit attempts.

Is Pisang Peak Climbing Difficult?

It is not so difficult if you are a technically skilled climber but if you are a beginner then it gives you some trouble. When is the most suitable time to climb Pisang Peak?

Climbing Pisang Peak at any season in Spring, Autumn, Monsoon, and Winter. But Spring and Autumn are the ideal times for Pisang Peak climbing. Day 01:

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, complete all the customs, and our representative from Attentive Holiday will welcome you and transfer you to the hotel. After refreshments, our guide or Climbing leader will give you a brief overview of your climbing. This is the moment to ask questions and get your doubts answered if you have anything about your trip. Spend the night in the hotel.

Day 02:

We unpack and spend the majority of the day resting. We visit the Attentive Holiday office in the afternoon or in the Hotel.  To ensure that our climbing gear is in good order for our upcoming adventure, climbing leaders will inspect it. We also discussed our journey and met other participants. You can just walk around the narrow streets of Kathmandu for local tests if you wish or visit UNESCO Heritage sites.

Day 03:

After breakfast, take a beautiful drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar, the entrance to the Annapurna region. The road offers a view of rural Nepal as it meanders through terraced farmlands, small settlements, and verdant hills. Enjoy the natural splendor and sporadic glimpses of distant snow-capped peaks as you travel through the Trishuli and Marshyangdi river valleys.

Depending on the state of the roads, the drive takes roughly 5-6 hours. It ends at the busy town of Besisahar, where you may get ready for the next day's drive.

Day 04:

After breakfast, Take a thrilling trip to Chame, the Manang District's administrative hub, from Besisahar in a private jeep. As you go through breathtaking scenery, such as falling waterfalls, dense forests, and high cliffs, the road gets rocky and Haphazard.

As you travel through charming villages like Timang and Dharapani, you'll observe how Tibetan Buddhism has changed the local architecture and culture. Admire the magnificent vistas of Annapurna II, Lamjung Himal, and other peaks as you rise.

By late afternoon, you will reach Chame (2,670 m), where the sound of prayer wheels and flapping prayer flags will welcome you. Prepare for the upcoming trekking trip by spending the night in a comfortable teahouse.

Day 05:

After breakfast, the trek starts with a walk along winding routes through thick pine forests. Admire the majestic Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal while traversing multiple suspension bridges. Arrive in Upper Pisang, a charming village with traditional stone homes and wind-blown prayer flags.

Day 06:

The day will be free for acclimatization at high altitudes. Hike up to a certain altitude that makes your body adapt in upcoming days. Acclimatization helps to avoid altitude sickness, and respiratory problems and also prevents HAPE and HASE. Engage in physical activity you can increase your ability.

This day our guide teaches you some climbing techniques like walking on a fixed rope, using jumaring. If time remains hike upper Pisang hamlet and return to the hotel and proper rest.

Day 07:

After breakfast, the journey begins from upper Pisang Valley and passes through a traditional village. While passing through the village you can observe praying flags, monasteries, historic buildings, and diverse cultures.  To reach Pisang Peak Base Camp, the track leads up through steep and alpine terrain. After traveling to the base camp, we will set up our camp and spend the night there. Stunning views of the Himalayan peaks may be seen from the Pisang Peak Base Camp.

Day 08:

After breakfast, we will head towards high camp. On the base camp, we will select some of the necessary equipment and gear for the summit and hike towards the high camp. The route is narrow, snowy, and rocky with some steep accent. Continue climbing up to 1000 m passing through barren landscape. Through the walk, amazing view of MT. Manaslu, Annapurna range is closely observed by the naked eye which makes us more energetic while hiking up to the high camp.

Arriving high camp at the elevation of 5400 m, we will set up the camp in a safe location and prepare for the summit push in next day. The climbing team will recce the area, closely observe the summit routes, and prepare the equipment that makes the climb safe.

Day 09:

At 3-4 am morning we will start our journey to the summit. The climb to the summit is a technical section where the slope is up to 45-55 degrees. We will walk on a fixed rope set by the guide using jumaring and an ice axe. Using fixed rope we will conquer the summit of Pisang Peak at the elevation of 6091 m. It is an unforgettable moment upon the summit of the peak. Enjoy the summit view of majestic mountains like Annapurna, Manaslu, Tilicho Peak, Chulu Ease, Damodar, etc. Take a memorable Photograph at the summit and slowly return to the base camp.

Day 10:

After breakfast, we will descend to Manang Valley by the rocky landscape. The trail is narrow and if we are lucky, we will see some endangered species like snow leopards and other animals. Most of the trial is from the Bank of River. After hiking for several hours, we will reach the beautiful village of Manang.

Day 11:

As the journey proceeds from Manang Valley to Yak Kharka. It travels through a variety of scenery and becomes immersed in the cultural aspect of the trek. As you ascend the high hills, you leave behind the beautiful Valley with its monasteries and Tibetan-style architecture. Observe the breathtaking views of Annapurna as you ascend uphill. Yak Kharka reaches after Himalayan Greenland, a forest area, and an alpine landscape. Yak Kharka is a pasture land where the yak graze. Small cottages are found in Yak Kharka where you can find the local way of life and their culture and perception of living.

Day 12:

After breakfast, Trek across rugged terrain and traverse glacial floods on wooden bridges. The beauty of the surrounding peaks is even more breathtaking as you get closer to High Camp. To get ready for the crossing of Thorong La Pass, take a rest early.

Day 13:

Set out on the most difficult day of the hike. Cross the Thorong La Pass, the trek's highest point, before sunrise. Have a packed breakfast on the way. The difficult ascent leads to stunning vistas of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. After celebrating at the top, gently descend into Muktinath, relishing the change to greener scenery.

Explore Muktinath's ancient temple, noted for its 108 water spouts and perpetual flame, adored by Hindus and Buddhists together. This is the most exciting and rewarding achievement of our journey.

Day 14:

After breakfast, Start the day with a picturesque jeep ride through the world's deepest gorge, the Kali Gandaki Valley, as you descend from Muktinath. The trip provides breathtaking vistas of terraced farmlands, snow-capped peaks, and high cliffs. Travel through quaint communities known for their apple orchards and traditional Thakali cultures, such as Jomsom and Marpha.

Enjoy the surroundings as you go, which change from dry highlands to green hills. The drive is the ideal way to take in Nepal's natural splendor and think back on your journey.

Upon reaching Pokhara, check-in at the hotel and enjoy the nightlife in Pokhara and rest.

Day 15:

The day will be free, you can visit the nearby sights like boating in Phewa Lake, World Peace Pagoda, Davis Falls, Gupteshwor Cave also the evening vibrating culture of Pokhara.

Day 16:

After breakfast, we will drive back to Kathmandu. The route is beautiful and full of natural beauty. Upon arriving at Kathmandu transfer to the hotel and leisure time for your refreshment. Evening farewell dinner at the authentic local restaurant in Thamel.
