Trekking in Upper Dolpo region takes you to one of the most isolated valleys of Far-western region of Nepal. Situated in the north of the Dhaulagiri Range on the borders of Tibet, it is a protected area in Nepal as the Shey-Phoksundo National Park lies within its borders. Upper Dolpo trek is known for its off-the-beaten-trail, the unspoiled routes, and the unique vegetation that remains unexplored. The major inhabitants here are the Buddhist people. Then, we reach our adventure destination at Shey Gompa via Lake Phokshumdo or Ringmo pristine, turquoise lake within its Nepal largest Dolpo National Park.
The Dolpo region was also chosen as the prime location for the 1999 Oscar Nominated film Himalaya. It is one of the remotest and least exposed areas of northern Nepal.
