Day 01:

Goodmorning! After breakfast at your hotel, our guide will pick you up from your hotel or at a meet-up point in Pokhara. After a quick introduction with each other, your guide will give a short briefing of the Ghorepani Poon Hill trek. You will then drive from Pokhara to Hile on a jeep and it takes around 2 to 2.5 hours to get there. Hile lies on the gateway route of Poon Hill trek as well as the classic Annapurna Base Camp trek. Previously, trekkers needed to walk from Nayapul but now due to road access, you can reach further with a drive. 

Your trek starting point is the village of Hile and it takes 2 to 2.5 hours to reach Ulleri by trekking. You will pass Tikhedhunga on the way to Ulleri. The trek is an uphill climb on stone steps to the beautiful Magar village of Ulleri. You can witness beautiful views of surrounding hills, valleys, farmlands and traditional villages during today’s trek. After arriving, you will check-in at a cozy and warm teahouse with immense hospitality.

Day 02:

After a hearty breakfast at the teahouse, you will begin trekking towards Ghorepani. On the way you will pass traditional villages of Banthanti and Nayathanti. The walk takes you deeper into the Annapurna region as you ascend through lush rhododendron and oak forests. The trail still consists of stone-steps which can be a bit hard on your legs. But to compensate for that, you will witness amazing views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and Machhapuchhre mountain ranges. The trail climbs uphill leaving the terraced farmlands behind and gives way to dense alpine forests. After around 5 to 6 hours of hiking uphill, you will arrive at Ghorepani village which is your destination. You can witness magnificent sunset views with wide panoramas of mountains, hill in the distance.

Day 03:

Today is the main highlight of the trek. You will begin on an early morning hike to Poon Hill (3,210 m) to witness spectacular sunrise over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail mountain), Nilgiri, Annapurna South and other peaks. It takes around an hour to get there from Ghorepani. Poon Hill is one of the best vantage points in the Annapurna region as well as the best sunrise viewpoint in Nepal. After soaking in magical views and clicking tons of pictures, you will return to your teahouse for breakfast and short relaxation.


After that, you will prepare for another section of today’s hike. You will trek to the village of Tadapani, leaving Ghorepani behind. You will climb up and down through forest trails with glimpses of towering Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. After around 4 to 5 hours, you will reach Tadapani where you will stay overnight in a cozy teahouse.

Day 04:

After breakfast, today you will leave Tadapani and head towards another beautiful village of Ghandruk. The trek climbs downhill through rhododendron and oak forests. It takes around 3 hours to get to Ghandruk from Tadapani. Ghandruk is one of most popular villages in the Annapurna region with warm Gurung culture, hospitality and scenic views of mountains, hillsides and traditional houses. After lunch in Ghandruk, you will hop on a jeep and drive back to Pokhara. It takes around 3 to 4 hours to get to Pokhara depending on road conditions and traffic.
