The trek features varied landscapes, traditional villages, forest trails and alpine terrain all in one single Himalayan odyssey. The trail takes you to the Mardi Himal Base Camp (4,500m) first, connects to the Annapurna trekking trail, and takes you to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m). Mardi Himal and Annapurna Base Camp Trek features stunning close-up views of Mardi Himal, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Hiunchuli peak, Annapurna I, III, IV, Annapurna South and Gangapurna in the Annapurna Sanctuary.

Unlike standard Annapurna Base Camp trek routes, the Mardi Himal with ABC trek route offers a more peaceful trekking experience with less crowded trails and scenic ridge walking. You fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara from where the trek starts from. A jeep drive takes you to Dhampus from where you trek to Deurali. The trail follows a well-planned ABC and Mardi Himal trek itinerary through charming villages like Chhomrong, Deurali and Forest Camp.

The route gradually ascends along the Mardi Khola river, leading to the stunning Mardi Himal Base Camp and then visiting the Annapurna Base Camp. This combination of routes makes it one of the best combined treks in the Annapurna Conservation Area, offering both natural beauty and cultural immersion.

The ABC with Mardi Himal trek is considered moderately difficult, making it suitable for trekkers with average fitness levels. It is also regarded as a beginner friendly trek in Nepal, specially in the Annapurna region. With proper acclimatization and preparation, a beginner can also do this trek with safety and comfort. Each day typically involves 5 to 7 hours of hiking, allowing trekkers to fully experience the scenic landscapes and authentic Himalayan lifestyle.

The Annapurna Base Camp & Mardi Himal trek is best suited for those searching for a scenic and less crowded trekking route in Nepal. It offers a perfect blend of adventure, culture and nature, making it an ideal alternative to more commercial trekking routes. The best time for Mardi and ABC trek is during spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November), when the weather is stable and mountain views are at their best.

ABC & Mardi Trek package cost generally includes all the essential logistics. The cost increases with the combined trekking itinerary unlike the budget ABC trek. Mardi Himal and Annapurna base camp trek permits are the same as a standard trek in the Annapurna region. You don’t need any additional permits other than the ACAP and TIMS card.

This ABC and Mardi Himal combined trek is not just a physical journey but a complete Himalayan adventure that showcases the best of the Annapurna region.
