Is This Trek for You?

The maximum elevation you reach on this trek is 4,130 meters (13550 ft) at the base camp of Mount Annapurna I. Annapurna Base Camp Trek is not as difficult and doesn’t take you as high as the Annapurna Circuit Trek in the same region. However, you surely do need moderate fitness to comfortably complete this trek. There are no technical sections, but the problem comes from long walking days of 5 to 7 hours per day on average. The elevation gain is also gradual which means acclimatization becomes easy but only if you prepare well.

Also, this 10 Days ABC Trek has fewer trekking days and duration compared to the classic route 14 Days Annapurna Base Camp via Ghorepani Poon Hill. It is about how good your cardio and uphill climb is, as you constantly ascend and descend through forest trails, endless stone steps and alpine terrain.

If you are moderately fit and enjoy hiking, this trek is for you. But if your fitness is below average, opting for a longer and more gradual variation of the trek is better for you.

Annapurna Base Camp Trekking Cost For 2026/2027

The cost of this 10 Days Annapurna Base Camp Trek is lower than ABC with Mardi Himal Combined Trek. It ranges around $700 on average per person. Unlike a shorter trip directly from Pokhara, this itinerary runs from Kathmandu which adds the transportation cost to the package cost.

The trek is difficult in terms of stamina and cardio. It involves numerous ascents and descents as well as a varied terrain which puts physical stress on your body and legs, especially your knees. The stone steps section also adds to the trek difficulty. You need to hike for an average of 5 to 7 hours a day, on low oxygen levels due to higher altitude.

Accommodation and Meals Throughout the Trek

Annapurna Base Camp Trek primarily features teahouse accommodations as well as local lodges in the lower regions. However, do not expect elevated levels of luxury as you gain altitude. While in the higher regions, you may have to pay additionally for them when available. Teahouses also provide quality and nutritious meals during your Annapurna Base Camp Trek. The options range from Nepali staple dishes like Daal, Bhat (Rice, lentils) to noodles, Momo to western dishes like bread, sandwiches, soups, etc.

You may experience overpacked accommodations during peak seasons. Hence, it is important to book in advance. When you book the 10 Days Annapurna Base Camp Trek with us, we will manage the best available accommodation during your trekking journey.

Packing Tips for the Trek

Packing smartly and lightly is important for your trek. You must pack all the essentials like gear, clothing, travel documents but don’t bring unnecessary items such as laptops, fancy attire for this trip. steps. You must prepare well before the trek to reduce the difficulty level of Annapurna
base camp trek.

Yes, it is possible to do the Annapurna base camp trek in winter, but you need to
prepare extra for the punishing cold. In winter, the temperature drops to negative even in
the mid-sections of the trail and near base camps, it becomes extremely cold. Also,
heavy snowfall covers the trails due to which you need proper gear such as crampons or
micro spikes. The trek becomes more difficult but rewards you with fewer trekkers and
lower cost, which makes winter season a good option for specific trekkers.

Although it is possible to do the Annapurna base camp trek in Monsoon, we do not
recommend you do so. Due to heavy rainfall in monsoon season, the trails become
extremely muddy, slippery, and full of leeches. There is increased risk of landslides and

water, acclimatizing properly, and taking enough rest. Your guide will also monitor you
daily for any symptoms and provide expert care in case you fall ill to altitude sickness.

At Attentive Holiday Tours, we assign a maximum of 25 kilograms weight to your porters
ensuring it is under the ethical porter weight limit. Two trekkers will share one porter
meaning, one porter should have his bag around 12 kilograms at maximum so that the
total of two remains under 25 kgs.

very popular and well developed. However, the signal and strength may not always be
strong and sometimes even mobile data from your local SIM Card may not work properly

also only be possible if the accommodations are not booked in advance, especially
during the peak seasons.

customary and show your appreciation for the services and hard work of your guides
and porters. You should tip based on how satisfied you are with their services.
Generally, tipping 10% of the total cost to your guides and porters is the norm.

Travel insurance is not mandatory but is very necessary for any trekking adventures.
